GatorLink authentication support
Overview of GatorLink authentication
|
GatorLink authentication support consists of these parts:
-
A CGI script on a CNS server supports generic GatorLink
authentication.
The script checks the username and password, records the existence
of a current session for the user, and sends a cookie back the
browser.
The script incorporates a method for providing a link to
return to the original web site so it can be called
from another web site.
-
A network service on the same server can provide the
username and IP address associated with a particular cookie value.
-
Another CGI script at the server provides a log out service that prevents any
further use of the GatorLink cookie.
-
A small set of perl modules can be used to incorporate
GatorLink authentication into a perl CGI script running
on nersp or similar Unix environments.
